BJP Responds Strongly to Pakistans Defense Ministers Threats

New Delhi, April 6: Following a warning from Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif regarding potential attacks on Kolkata, sharp reactions have emerged within India’s political circles. Leaders have condemned these remarks and urged for restraint.

Asif spoke to journalists in Sialkot, stating that if India attempts another “false-flag operation,” Islamabad would escalate the matter to Kolkata. His comments have heightened tensions between the two nations.

In response, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal questioned Pakistan’s internal economic conditions and governance, asserting that such statements are attempts to divert attention from domestic failures.

Pal noted, “People in Pakistan are facing severe economic hardships, with soaring fuel prices and the government struggling with debt management.” He emphasized that the situation is dire, with citizens protesting over rising petrol and diesel costs, while friendly nations demand repayment of loans. “In such a scenario, inflammatory statements are merely attempts to distract from internal failures,” he added.

Senior BJP leader T.R. Srinivasan also criticized Asif’s remarks, issuing a stern warning against cross-border terrorist activities. He stated that if provoked, India could respond decisively, potentially implementing stringent measures like ‘Operation Sindoor-2.’

Meanwhile, senior advocate and former MP Majid Memon stressed the need for diplomatic restraint. He remarked, “Whether it is Pakistan’s defense minister or any other leader, making statements like ‘we will attack India’ is inappropriate. Pakistan should focus on maintaining peaceful and constructive relations with India within its borders.”

Congress leader Nana Patole questioned the timing and context of the defense minister’s statements, linking them to ongoing political developments. He alleged that such remarks are deliberately made, especially during elections in West Bengal. “Why is this being said about Kolkata now? Why not about Delhi, where elections are not happening?” Patole asked.
