BJP Promises Action in Ram Temple Donation Case, Upholds UCC as Constitutional Commitment

New Delhi, July 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has responded to the investigation into the Ram Temple donation case and reiterated its commitment to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Party leaders stated that the inquiry is progressing swiftly, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.

Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi commented on the Ram Temple donation case, noting that action has accelerated since the formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT). He stated, “The SIT is working continuously. The Uttar Pradesh government is taking this matter seriously, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally overseeing it. Arrests are ongoing until the investigation concludes. So far, around eight individuals have been arrested, and questioning of several others is still in progress.”

Regarding the UCC, Sarawagi emphasized, “We have repeatedly promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code in our election manifesto. UCC has already been enacted in several states, including Uttarakhand. In West Bengal, we have also stated that we will implement UCC if we come to power.”

BJP National Spokesperson Guru Prakash also addressed the Ram Temple donation case, affirming that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made it clear that strict action will be taken against any wrongdoers, setting a precedent to deter future misconduct. He added, “Those who lack moral authority on the Ram Temple issue have no right to speak on it.” On the UCC, Guru Prakash reiterated, “The Uniform Civil Code is a constitutional commitment.”

Meanwhile, BJP Rajya Sabha member Dinesh Sharma urged everyone to trust Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement that the truth will emerge. He remarked, “Immediately after making the statement, the Chief Minister ordered action. The investigation is progressing rapidly. The aim is not only to identify and arrest the guilty but also to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. Therefore, we should wait for the investigation report.”

On the UCC, Sharma noted that its successful implementation in Uttarakhand is a model. He highlighted the importance of UCC in border states like Assam and West Bengal, particularly as West Bengal has long faced issues with illegal immigration. He stated that the government will create necessary laws for good governance for all citizens, regardless of whether they are Hindu or Muslim.

Additionally, Uttar Pradesh government minister Sanjay Nishad announced that the SIT investigating the Ram Temple donation case has been granted an additional 15 days to complete its inquiry. This extension aims to ensure that no innocent person is wrongfully punished and that the investigation is conducted with complete impartiality.
