New Delhi, July 22: The Women’s Scottish Open will take place from July 23 to 26 at the Dundonald Links Golf Course in Scotland. Indian golfer Diksha Dagar aims to continue her impressive performance in this prestigious tournament.
Joining Diksha are fellow countrywomen Avani Prashanth and Pranavi Urs. This event is recognized by both the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the LPGA Tour. With 144 players from 33 countries participating, a victory could secure a spot on the LPGA Tour.
This tournament marks the return of the LET after a two-week break and will be held at Dundonald Links for the fifth consecutive year.
Despite not adding any titles to her two LET wins this season, Diksha enters the event in excellent form. She has finished in the top 10 in three of her last four tournaments. She tied for ninth at the Jabra Ladies Open, tied for third at the Dutch Ladies Open, and tied for seventh at the Huelencourt Women’s Open. Additionally, she secured a tie for 12th at the Czech Ladies Open, a tournament she previously won.
Diksha’s consistent performance has elevated her to eighth place in the LET Order of Merit. This season, she has made the top 10 five times and the top 21 three times. A strong showing in Scotland could further enhance her ranking for the season. Her best finish at Dundonald Links was third place in 2023, while she tied for 25th last year.
Defending champion Lottie Woad returns to the venue where she achieved her first professional win after securing an LPGA Tour card last year. The English golfer has since claimed another LPGA title.
The weather in the United Kingdom is warmer than usual, which may affect course conditions compared to last year. For the first two rounds, Woad will be grouped with world number one Nelly Korda and England’s Charlie Hull.
