New Delhi, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : BJP MP Naresh Bansal addressed various issues concerning the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Supreme Court’s directive regarding the party’s name and election symbol. Speaking in New Delhi, he emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision should be respected by all parties involved. He noted that the Election Commission‘s forthcoming ruling will be in line with the Supreme Court’s guidance and must be accepted.
Commenting on allegations made by Mayawati regarding MP Chandrashekhar Azad and the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Bansal stated that such accusations are commonplace during election season. He characterized these remarks as typical political posturing.
Regarding Mayawati’s demand for elections to be conducted via ballot paper, Bansal expressed confidence in the public’s trust in the Election Commission and EVMs. He pointed out that the Election Commission has repeatedly challenged political parties to demonstrate any capability to hack EVMs, yet no party has come forward to prove their claims during demonstrations.
Bansal accused the opposition of raising concerns about EVMs only after losing elections, labeling this behavior as a political tactic. He remarked that while he has witnessed ballot paper fraud, he has never seen EVMs being tampered with.
On the matter of the Supreme Court’s request for a response from the government regarding UPI payment issues, Bansal stated that the case is now under judicial consideration and that the forthcoming decision must be adhered to by all parties.
Addressing opposition claims about the government imposing new taxes related to UPI fees, Bansal clarified that no such taxes have been introduced. He reiterated that the finance minister has already explained that the funds generated will not go to the government treasury but will be distributed among the three components of the payment system. He assured that 96% of UPI users will not be affected by these fees, and that only certain business transactions exceeding ₹2,000 would incur charges, capped at a maximum of ₹300.
In response to allegations against the Election Commission by JP Nadda, Bansal supported Nadda’s assertion that the opposition is spreading falsehoods and attempting to disrupt the political climate. He stated that the BJP aims not merely for power but to effect meaningful change in the lives of ordinary citizens.
