BJP Leaders Brother Shot in Bihars Saran District

Patna, August 14: In a shocking incident in Saran district, Bihar, unidentified assailants on motorcycles shot Bajrang Prasad Soni, the younger brother of BJP leader Jitendra Kumar Soni, on Thursday evening. The shooting occurred in Rasulpur village, within the Amanour police station area, shortly before the attackers fled the scene.

Bajrang Prasad Soni has been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment, where his condition is reported to be critical.

Upon receiving news of the shooting, Madhoura DSP Savinder Kumar Das and a team from Amanour police station arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. Local police have launched a large-scale search operation to apprehend the suspects.

According to family members, Bajrang was returning home on a motorcycle with his nephew, Shobhit Raj, after closing his shop. Around 7 PM, as they approached Rasulpur Middle School, unknown assailants followed them and fired three rounds, hitting Bajrang in the neck and back.

Police have also questioned Shobhit Raj, who was with Bajrang during the incident.

Sources indicate that Jitendra Kumar Soni and Bajrang Prasad Soni have been embroiled in a land dispute with family members. Allegations suggest that this dispute led to a violent clash between the two parties in December 2025, resulting in serious injuries to both Jitendra and Bajrang.

Police sources revealed that the accused in the earlier case were released on bail about ten days prior to Thursday’s shooting. Authorities are investigating whether the previous dispute is connected to the recent attack.

Madhoura DSP Savinder Kumar Das stated that the police are exploring all possible angles and are working to identify and arrest those responsible for the shooting.
