BJP Leader Predicts TMCs Downfall in Bengal Elections

Mumbai, April 28: In a bold statement, BJP leader Pratul Shahdev from Jharkhand has claimed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) stronghold in Bengal is now a thing of the past. Speaking ahead of the second phase of voting for 142 seats, he asserted that “the pot of sins” associated with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is about to overflow.

Shahdev emphasized that if the TMC manages to secure even 20 to 25 seats, it will be a struggle to maintain its dignity. He criticized the party’s politics of appeasement, stating that the public will never forgive such actions.

He supported Prime Minister Modi’s remarks about Bengal, promising job opportunities for youth under a BJP government and a path toward development for the state.

Backing RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, Shahdev remarked that India has always been a Hindu nation and does not need a separate declaration. He highlighted the glorious history of Sanatan Dharma, asserting that it has withstood invasions throughout history.

Shahdev criticized the portrayal of Mughal rulers during Congress rule, stating that while figures like Akbar were glorified, brave kings like Maharana Pratap were overlooked. He expressed a commitment to correcting these historical inaccuracies.

Regarding the Ram Temple, Shahdev noted that its construction in Ayodhya was made possible through the support of the ruling party and the public. He recalled how the UPA government once dismissed Lord Ram as a fictional character. He contrasted this with the current BJP government’s efforts to establish a grand temple at the site of the former Babri Mosque.

Shahdev described the ideal of Ram Raj as a society without discrimination, where all individuals, regardless of their background, enjoyed equal rights. He stressed that this vision can only be realized through collaboration between the rulers and the people.

Commenting on recent statements from AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj regarding Raghav Chadha’s marriage, Shahdev suggested that Bhardwaj’s remarks reflect his desperation. He criticized the AAP for its internal issues and the removal of members.

On the topic of renaming Mumbai’s King Edward Memorial Hospital, Shahdev stated that this is not a controversy but a necessary correction of historical mistakes. He welcomed the idea of naming institutions after local heroes and freedom fighters instead of colonial figures.

He also addressed a recent incident in Mira Road, where a Muslim individual allegedly attacked two Hindu security guards for not reciting a religious verse. Shahdev called for strict government action against such acts.

Finally, he condemned the Punjab government’s decision to withdraw security from former cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh, labeling it as a political maneuver aimed at endangering Singh’s safety.
