Ranchi, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : In Ranchi, on September 19, amidst various political developments at both national and regional levels, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson Manoj Pandey addressed the recent rejection of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s petition related to an Enforcement Directorate (ED) case.
Following the court’s decision regarding the land purchase case, Pandey stated that the party will consider its next steps based on legal advice. “If necessary, we will approach the Supreme Court. We have complete faith in the judiciary, and we will accept whatever order is given. We believe justice will prevail, and the Chief Minister will be proven innocent,” he remarked.
Commenting on the freezing of Mamata Banerjee’s party symbol, Pandey supported her decision to challenge the matter in the Supreme Court, calling it a justified move. He expressed concern over the treatment Banerjee received, alleging that the BJP government is intent on undermining her. “This is a dangerous signal for democracy,” he added.
Regarding the arrest of a Congress candidate in the Nandigram by-election, supported by Banerjee, Pandey suggested that it reflects her influence. He noted that previous candidates endorsed by Banerjee had been coerced into withdrawing.
In response to Kiren Rijiju’s comment labeling Congress as a ‘Bhasmasur,’ Pandey shot back, saying, “I believe Rijiju himself embodies that label. He will soon sink his party in the Northeast.”
On the matter of four examinations, including JPSC and CGLE, being canceled, the Jharkhand government has filed an affidavit in the High Court. Pandey stated, “The government has presented its case strongly through the affidavit. The court will decide, and the government will comply with its orders. However, we are effectively putting forth our position.”
