Lucknow, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : BJP legislator Nand Kishore Gurjar has launched a scathing critique of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its national president, Akhilesh Yadav. Speaking in Lucknow, he expressed his discontent over the recent appointment of Akhilesh as the head of the Lohia Trust, stating that this move is a significant insult to Shivpal Singh Yadav. Gurjar emphasized that Shivpal played a crucial role in the establishment of the SP and supported Mulayam Singh Yadav throughout his political journey.
He noted that the treatment of Shivpal reflects a major shift within the SP’s internal dynamics. Gurjar claimed that under Akhilesh’s leadership, the party is losing its strength. He even suggested that Shivpal consider joining the BJP or forming a new political entity, highlighting the emotional ties of the Yadav community and Mulayam Singh’s supporters to Shivpal.
Regarding the issue of alleged duplicate voters, Gurjar responded to SP’s demand for an investigation into over 3,000 suspected duplicate voters in the Etawah constituency. He stressed the importance of maintaining an accurate and transparent voter list, alleging that the duplicate voters cited by the SP may be linked to their own political base.
Gurjar also raised concerns about the SP’s strategy of questioning the electoral process and voting machines ahead of elections. He criticized the party’s decision to conduct a campaign at the assembly level rather than a long-distance yatra, suggesting it indicates a weakening position. He predicted that the SP would secure very few seats in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections, asserting that voters will base their decisions on development, law and order.
In response to Jayant Chaudhary’s remarks about the SP’s internal discussions, Gurjar praised Chaudhary as a serious and educated leader. He accused Akhilesh and his party members of making derogatory comments about various social groups and warned that any political remarks against Chaudhary would face backlash from farmers, laborers, and youth. He also criticized the SP for not respecting its former allies in Western Uttar Pradesh.
On the administrative actions taken in a case linked to Loni, Gurjar commended Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his response. He mentioned meeting with families affected by alleged sexual harassment and assured them of government support. Gurjar expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, stating that stringent action is necessary to deliver justice to the victims.
Addressing allegations made by Asaduddin Owaisi regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Gurjar affirmed that the country must operate under its Constitution and laws. He explained that the UCC aims to establish a uniform legal framework for all citizens. He highlighted the government’s commitment to this initiative under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, noting that progress is being made in BJP-ruled states, including Uttar Pradesh.
