New Delhi, April 15: The central government is convening a special parliamentary session to discuss the Women’s Reservation Bill. BJP MP Manan Mishra praised the bill on Wednesday, stating that the government is committed to honoring women.
Mishra defended the special session on the Women’s Reservation Bill, saying, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the respect, empowerment, and welfare of women are the government’s top priorities. The special session from April 16 to 18 has been called to address the shortcomings of the law passed in 2023.”
He further stated, “Necessary amendments will be made during this session to ensure that women receive 33 percent reservation in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. This reservation will be implemented from 2029, increasing women’s political representation and participation. The government is calling this session to honor women.”
The BJP MP also commended Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati for supporting the Women’s Reservation Bill. He remarked, “Any sensible politician will welcome this bill, but the Congress lacks vision. They are losing public favor daily and only aim to oppose. Mayawati understands this. Wise leaders will support it. This bill is about strengthening the nation.”
Additionally, he launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Pawan Khera, stating that he has acted wrongly and there is sufficient evidence against him in the registered case.
In a special conversation, Mishra said, “Pawan Khera has made a mistake. The case against him has substantial material. There was no question of transit bail; the order was incorrect, which is why the Supreme Court annulled it after reviewing everything.”
Mishra also addressed the situation in West Bengal, saying, “The BJP sincerely wants to free the oppressed people of Bengal from the corruption and oppression of the TMC. PM Modi has appealed to the people of Bengal to use their wisdom and give the BJP a chance to ensure development, end corruption, and guarantee the welfare of the people.”
