
New Delhi, March 15: With the announcement of assembly election dates in West Bengal, the BJP expressed confidence on Sunday that it would remove the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government from power.
Several senior BJP leaders stated that they anticipate strong performance in the two phases of the assembly elections scheduled for April 23 and April 29. The results will be declared on May 4.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan spoke to reporters, expressing optimism about a significant political shift in the state. He remarked, “The people of Bengal have decided to change the current government led by Mamata Banerjee. There is rampant injustice, corruption, and nepotism. The people of Bengal have made up their minds to oust Mamata Banerjee.”
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also claimed that the BJP would form the government in the state. He noted that this time, the BJP would come to power in West Bengal as the public is fed up with the TMC.
BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana told a news agency that the people of the state have resolved to bring about political change. He stated that the people of Bengal have made their decision. The TMC government is supporting infiltrators, while the youth of the country stand with the nation. They aspire to build a developed India and support Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya asserted that the BJP is strengthening its foothold in West Bengal. He mentioned that the TMC is lagging behind while the BJP is advancing. The atmosphere in the state is shifting in favor of the BJP, causing concern for the TMC. Our party workers are also facing attacks. The TMC is misusing its power, and the law and order situation in the state has completely deteriorated.
Maurya accused the TMC-led government of sheltering infiltrators. He added that the people of West Bengal will respond to all these issues. “The lotus will bloom in Bengal,” he declared.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused the TMC government of becoming a regime of goons. He stated that it is no longer a democratic government but relies on thugs, government officials, and police. He claimed that the police have been politicized. For the people of West Bengal, it is a ‘do or die’ situation. This time, Bengal must be saved, or there will be an exodus of Hindus from the state.
He also alleged that if Mamata Banerjee’s government returns to power, it would turn the state into another Bangladesh.
Referring to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) raids on the I-PAC and Banerjee’s response, he noted that everyone saw her fleeing with files. He further accused the Chief Minister of never addressing issues of unemployment or development in the state.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the election schedule for four states and one Union Territory on Sunday, outlining measures to ensure free, fair, and transparent assembly elections.
