BJP Accuses Opposition of Evading Discussion in Parliament

New Delhi, August 13: Tensions have escalated between the ruling party and the opposition during the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament. On Wednesday, BJP leaders asserted that the government is open to discussing every issue, while the opposition is resorting to chaos and obstructionist tactics.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal addressed reporters, stating, “The opposition has been completely exposed. Since the beginning of this session, the government has been consistently engaging in dialogue. We have even amended laws, yet not a single member from the opposition spoke on the bill during the debate. The Speaker invited them to participate in discussions. They initially called for a debate, but once the government agreed, their stance changed. Their repeated shifts in attitude clearly indicate that Rahul Gandhi and the entire opposition lack substantial issues.”

BJP MP Dharmshila Gupta described the opposition’s behavior as unfortunate. She remarked, “It is regrettable that the opposition, including Rahul Gandhi and other parties, is preventing Parliament from functioning. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has urged them to engage in discussions, but Rahul Gandhi and the opposition seem to have other intentions. They are merely staging a drama before the nation and the world.”

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey emphasized that the Home Minister is present in Parliament daily and has even written an open letter to the Speaker, stating that they are ready for discussions at any time—morning, noon, or night.

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi accused the opposition of failing to bring forth proposals. He stated, “This morning, the Home Minister asked Congress and the opposition to present proposals in accordance with the rules and procedures of the House for discussion. The government is prepared for dialogue. The Home Minister expressed his readiness to respond to all matters in detail during the session. He mentioned that proposals should have been submitted by 3 PM today, but none have been presented yet.”

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya criticized the opposition for wasting taxpayers’ money. He stated, “It is unfortunate that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party are persistently engaged in obstructionist politics. The Home Minister has repeatedly clarified his willingness to engage in a full debate and answer all questions from the opposition in Parliament. Despite repeated assurances, the opposition continues to disrupt proceedings.”

BJP MP K. Lakshman from Telangana remarked, “The government has discussed and decided on every issue, but Congress seeks to create obstacles.”

Outside Parliament, the BJP organized a Tiranga Yatra, carrying the national flag. BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari stated, “Today, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, all BJP workers are participating in the Tiranga Yatra. This march symbolizes the unity and sovereignty of the nation and our commitment to making the country self-reliant under the Prime Minister’s guidance. BJP workers will go door-to-door to raise the flag and spread the message of patriotism.”
