New Delhi, August 12: BJP National President Nitin Naveen has launched a sharp attack on Congress and opposition parties regarding the ongoing stalemate in the Parliament’s monsoon session. He accused Congress of diverting the entire opposition from key issues and obstructing meaningful discussions in Parliament.
Nitin Naveen expressed his views on the social media platform X, stating, “Parliament is the sacred temple of democracy, where meaningful discussions on public issues determine the country’s direction. However, during this monsoon session, the irresponsible Congress has only worked to mislead the entire opposition. The behavior of Rahul Gandhi and the entire opposition reveals their chaotic mindset and anti-democratic thinking. As this session nears its end, they have shown no willingness to engage in serious discussions on any issue. Initially, they demanded a debate on youth issues, and when the Modi government was fully prepared for it, the opposition fled, claiming they did not want to discuss anything.”
He noted that the government was ready to discuss every topic, but the opposition consistently avoided public concerns. “Why is the opposition shying away from debate, discussion, and dialogue? This clearly indicates that they are neither serious nor committed to the issues at hand. This session was the first for many new MPs, and the opposition has only presented a shameful image of our democracy before them. Due to their obstinate behavior, the country missed out on question hour, and many important public issues could not be addressed in this temple of democracy.”
The BJP President further stated, “Rahul Gandhi, the position of Leader of the Opposition in India has always held high constitutional dignity. However, you have repeatedly disgraced this position with your indecent language, arrogance, and irresponsible behavior, significantly diminishing the decorum and dignity of the House. The truth is that the opposition is avoiding discussions because they fear facing the Home Minister. The Home Minister has traversed a long political journey from the streets to the House, and the entire country knows that when he speaks in the House with facts, the opposition is left speechless. Out of this fear, the opposition has kept changing topics and evading discussions throughout the session.”
Central Minister Chirag Paswan also criticized the opposition’s behavior. He wrote on social media, “Despite the clear intervention of Home Minister Amit Shah and the government’s readiness for discussions, the opposition disrupted the proceedings of the House, which is unfortunate and contrary to democratic traditions. The government was prepared to discuss issues related to students, the Ram Temple, and all other topics raised by the opposition.”
He emphasized that if the opposition has any issues, questions, or arguments, they should discuss them within the House. “In democracy, solutions to problems arise from debate and dialogue, not from creating disruptions. Disagreement should be respected, but the most appropriate platform for expressing it is Parliament. The government was not avoiding discussions but was ready to answer every question. Therefore, the opposition’s behavior cannot be considered in line with democratic norms and parliamentary traditions. This attitude undermines parliamentary traditions and harms the dignity of democratic institutions.”
