New Delhi, August 13: BJP MP Naveen Jain expressed his delight over the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ during the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort. He emphasized that it is a significant moment for the nation, highlighting the principle of ‘One Nation, One Law’ under which temples, mosques, gurdwaras, madrasas, schools, and educational institutions of all faiths have fostered a patriotic environment since 2014, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
In an interview in New Delhi, Jain noted that this atmosphere is now visible from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. It feels as if India is united, with ‘Vande Mataram’ being sung everywhere and the tricolor flag being hoisted. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah for this development.
Supporting Home Minister Amit Shah’s statements regarding the opposition, Jain remarked that initially, opposition parties, particularly Congress, claimed that the matter was related to students, suggesting that the Home Minister should address the issue of police action in the House. However, when Shah was ready to speak, the opposition began to retreat. Jain criticized the opposition for wanting to control the proceedings of both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha at their convenience, asserting that the House must operate according to its rules and constitutional framework.
He accused the opposition of walking out and creating chaos after Shah expressed his willingness to address the House.
On the issue of student protests, Jain targeted Congress, stating that when exam papers are leaked, Congress supports the demonstrators and demands the resignation of the Education Minister. However, in Jharkhand, where Congress is in power, they do not protest against paper leaks. Similar inaction was noted in Karnataka and Punjab regarding paper leak cases. He urged the opposition to raise student issues uniformly across all states.
Regarding the police action against protesting students in Ranchi, Jain criticized both the Jharkhand government and the opposition. He reported that many students suffered injuries, including broken bones, due to police brutality during the protests. He condemned the incident, stating that it was utterly wrong and deserving of strong denunciation.
Jain urged the opposition to be prepared for discussions on both Jharkhand and Delhi issues in the Rajya Sabha, accusing them of avoiding dialogue. He mentioned that the public is demanding answers from Rahul Gandhi on these matters.
On the FCRA bill, Jain stated that it is a necessity for the country. He asserted that the government has the right to know how foreign donations are utilized in India and must ensure that such funds are not used for anti-national activities or to undermine the country.
He appealed to Congress and other opposition parties not to view the bill through the lens of vote bank politics. He urged them to support the bill, emphasizing that it is being introduced in the national interest by Home Minister Amit Shah.
