New Delhi, August 13: The controversy surrounding alleged paper leaks and irregularities in recruitment exams in Punjab is intensifying. BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has leveled serious accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, stating that these incidents have raised questions about the credibility of the state’s youth and the entire examination system. He referenced a directive from the Punjab-Haryana High Court, which has reportedly halted the pharmacy recruitment process, indicating that the court is taking the alleged irregularities seriously.
In an interview, Bhandari stated that the Punjab and Haryana High Court has reprimanded the Punjab government while temporarily suspending the pharmacy recruitment process. The court’s order addresses allegations of organized malpractice and cheating during the examination process. This issue extends beyond a single recruitment exam, casting doubt on the entire competitive examination framework in Punjab and jeopardizing the future of its youth. If incidents of fraud or paper leaks occur, the most significant impact is on those young individuals who dedicate years to preparing for government job exams.
Bhandari asserted that the Punjab government attempted to argue before the court that no paper leaks had occurred in the state. However, the High Court did not accept this argument and noted allegations of the use of Bluetooth devices and organized cheating during the exams.
He emphasized that if there are allegations of cheating through electronic devices at examination centers, it raises serious questions about the integrity of the examination system, rather than merely indicating individual misconduct. This necessitates an investigation into how the examination process was compromised and what actions have been taken against those responsible. The youth of Punjab are persistently raising concerns regarding these alleged irregularities in examinations. They have also demanded the resignation of the state’s education minister, insisting that the government must address their questions.
The BJP spokesperson has previously claimed that several competitive and board examinations in Punjab have been leaked. He pointed out that this issue is not confined to a single exam. The leaked examinations include the Deputy Tehsildar recruitment exam on December 21, 2025, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 12 English exam, the Agriculture Development Officer recruitment exam, the PSSSB Group-B Officer exam, and the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test.
Bhandari expressed concern over the recurring examination-related controversies in Punjab. Paper leaks or cheating directly affect candidates who prepare for exams fairly. The youth of Punjab are anxious about their future and are demanding transparent answers from the government. Any irregularity in recruitment exams disproportionately harms those candidates who prepare diligently for years with limited resources, viewing a government job as the foundation of their future.
Bhandari reiterated the demand for the resignation of the Punjab education minister, stating that the government must take responsibility for the allegations surrounding paper leaks and the examination process. He urged that if questions continue to arise regarding examinations, the government should take concrete action rather than merely issuing statements. He concluded by questioning when the education minister would resign and when the government would apologize to the youth regarding the alleged paper leak issue.
