Bihars Flood Management Criticized by MP Sudhakar Singh

Patna, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : Sudhakar Singh, a Member of Parliament from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has sharply criticized the Bihar government, stating that its flood management efforts have completely failed. Speaking in Patna, Singh emphasized the dire situation faced by flood-affected residents, who lack access to clean water and essential services.

He noted that floods in Bihar are a natural disaster, exacerbated by excessive rainfall. However, he expressed frustration over the government’s inability to provide necessary resources, such as boats for rescue operations, fodder for livestock, and potable water for affected communities.

In a separate matter regarding social media influencer Vidyut Bhardwaj, Singh alleged that individuals associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were involved in violent incidents at Jantar Mantar, where children were reportedly attacked. He questioned the narrative that claimed those present were plainclothes police, asserting they were actually thugs.

Commenting on remarks made by Asaduddin Owaisi concerning mosques, Singh accused the government of targeting religious sites, asserting that both mosques and temples are under scrutiny. He lamented the impact on cultural freedoms, alleging financial misconduct related to the Ram Temple.

When asked about the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) restrictions on Muslim participation in Garba and Dandiya events in Maharashtra, Singh questioned the authority of the VHP and called for the government to imprison those who incite such divisions.

Singh also raised concerns about corruption within Bihar’s health department, claiming that institutional corruption runs deep. He highlighted discrepancies in pricing, where items worth one rupee were charged at ten rupees. Singh pointed out that the system is compromised from top to bottom, with no attempts made to halt these practices, placing the blame on the Chief Minister, as development commissioners oversee all corporations under his authority.

He further criticized the procurement processes within the health sector, questioning the inflated costs of basic medical supplies and the lack of accountability for the misuse of public funds. Singh called for an investigation into these procurement discrepancies and demanded accountability for those responsible.
