Patna, June 30: Bihar’s Revenue and Land Reforms Minister, Dilip Jayaswal, announced on Tuesday that the state government will provide land entitlement certificates to 30,000 eligible landless families across the state under the ‘Abhiyan Basera-2’ initiative on August 15. He emphasized that the government’s goal is to ensure that no eligible landless family in Bihar is deprived of land rights.
Jayaswal stated that providing a dignified life to poor and landless families is among the state’s top priorities. He noted that, so far, 71,569 eligible families have received land entitlement certificates under the Abhiyan Basera-2 program. A special campaign will be launched on Independence Day to include 30,000 new beneficiaries in this scheme.
The minister mentioned that the department’s secretary, Jai Singh, has issued detailed guidelines to all district magistrates. They have been instructed to review and finalize the list of beneficiaries, ensure registration of new eligible families on the ‘Abhiyan Basera’ portal, and complete the signing process for all entitlement certificates by July 31.
Jayaswal explained that the entire certificate distribution process will be conducted online through the ‘Abhiyan Basera’ portal to ensure transparency and accountability. On August 15, certificates will be handed over to beneficiaries in the presence of public representatives and dignitaries at district headquarters or special camps.
He added that the progress of the campaign will be reviewed weekly at the headquarters level. All district magistrates have been directed to monitor the campaign regularly and submit weekly progress reports to the department, ensuring that all preparations are completed within the set timeframe.
Jayaswal revealed that the department has set a target of distributing a total of 30,000 entitlement certificates across all 38 districts in the state. The highest targets have been assigned to Patna (1,709), East Champaran (1,493), Muzaffarpur (1,405), Madhubani (1,314), Gaya (1,285), Samastipur (1,247), Saran (1,157), and Darbhanga (1,153).
