Patna, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions are rising in Bihar as senior Janata Dal (United) leader and minister Ashok Chaudhary responds to remarks made by Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav. Yadav had called for Bihar to be declared a disaster-affected state, criticized the government’s response to recent floods, and proposed renaming Bakhtiyarpur to Nitishpur.
Chaudhary addressed Yadav’s proposal, suggesting that local residents might support the name change. He emphasized, “There has never been, nor will there be, a leader like Nitish Kumar in this country. There’s no doubt about it. It’s up to his supporters to decide how to keep his name alive among the people.”
The minister’s comments have sparked discussions in political circles about the potential renaming of Bakhtiyarpur.
On the issue of flooding, Chaudhary criticized Yadav’s concerns, stating, “Tejashwi Yadav is unnecessarily worrying about the floods. He is writing to the Prime Minister without reason, while the government is fully engaged in addressing the situation. The Chief Minister and our Minister of Water Resources are in contact with the Prime Minister.”
He further noted the improvements in flood management, saying, “Think about how bad the flood conditions were in the past compared to now. People used to be trapped for months, but today the government is proactive and working actively.” Chaudhary accused Yadav of trying to gain media attention through his letters, asserting that the opposition lacks valid issues to discuss. He reiterated that the government stands with flood victims and is providing all possible assistance.
Tensions between the parties are expected to intensify as the situation unfolds.
