Patna, April 9: The Bihar government has issued a stern warning to the striking circle and revenue officials, stating that those who do not return to work by Friday evening will face job termination and lose promotion opportunities.
Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha announced on Thursday that discussions with representatives of the striking officials are ongoing to address their concerns. So far, six meetings have been held to understand and resolve their issues, with Principal Secretary C.K. Anil actively working towards solutions.
Sinha emphasized that circle and revenue officials are integral to the revenue department, and addressing their grievances is a top priority. Detailed discussions were held with them until 9 PM on Wednesday.
He clarified that the government is open to considering their legitimate demands. However, it is unreasonable to insist on demands that cannot be met due to departmental or policy constraints. Sinha noted that some individuals are engaging in pressure tactics, which do not lead to solutions. He cautioned that waiting for a change in government will be detrimental. The government has been part of the NDA before, is currently with the NDA, and will continue to be so in the future.
Currently, 589 revenue service officials are still on duty. The government expresses full sympathy towards those working, as their efforts continue to serve the public. To date, 23,449 cases of land records, 96,469 cases of modifications, and 14,220 e-mapping cases have been processed during this period.
Sinha urged the striking officials to participate positively in the dialogue process to ensure the smooth operation of revenue services that affect the general public.
