Lucknow, September 1: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch the ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign from September 17 to October 17, aimed at celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service, good governance, and nation-building. This initiative will take place across Uttar Pradesh, showcasing success stories of government schemes that have positively impacted the lives of ordinary citizens.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged party workers not to limit the campaign to mere events. He emphasized that every booth and power center has stories of individuals who have benefited from government initiatives, reflecting the changing landscape of India and Uttar Pradesh.
He highlighted the significant employment opportunities created, noting that around 930,000 youths have secured government jobs since 2014, with an additional 100,000 appointments expected in the next six months. The number of startups has surged from approximately 120 to 24,000. Yogi called for these achievements in education, health, expressways, airports, and connectivity to be part of the campaign’s success narrative.
Targeting the Samajwadi Party, the Chief Minister remarked that while mafia elements have been eradicated in Uttar Pradesh, some still mourn for them. He pointed out the lack of tears shed for the poor children and daughters who have succumbed to encephalitis.
BJP National General Secretary Smriti Irani stated that the hallmark of PM Modi’s 25 years in public life has been a focus on service, commitment, and results rather than power. She encouraged party workers to make this campaign a broad-based public participation initiative.
State President and Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary noted that the campaign aims not just to highlight achievements but to present real stories of how these have transformed citizens’ lives. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak also urged workers to engage with beneficiaries at the booth level.
State General Secretary (Organization) Dharmapal Singh emphasized the need to reach the public through service activities from September 17 to October 17, coinciding with PM Modi’s birthday. The campaign’s goals include maximum outreach, participation, and effective implementation. Workshops will also be organized at the district level.
The first program under the campaign, “Aashirwad Ka Diya,” aims to reach all beneficiaries, ensuring that a diya (lamp) is lit at their homes. Additionally, drawing and speech competitions will be held in colleges to celebrate PM Modi’s achievements over the past 25 years.
Dharmapal Singh announced that the “Namo Seva Gatha” and street play presentations will take place on October 2 at key locations in the state, showcasing the government’s service initiatives over the last 25 years. Each district will host 18 to 20 street plays.
He also mentioned the “Angan Ka Utsav,” which will honor Anganwadi workers, ASHA sisters, and mothers at Anganwadi centers. The fifth program, “Success Story,” will involve creating reels of beneficiaries whose lives have positively changed due to government schemes.
The campaign will include the “Seva Jyoti Yatra,” where participants will travel with a lamp on a chariot, culminating in a program at the destination. Another journey will commence from Gujarat’s Badnagar and Varanasi, involving 250 bikes, to perform rituals at significant temples.
Lastly, the “Seva Setu” program will facilitate camps to connect eligible individuals with government schemes. The BJP aims to spread the message of service through various initiatives, including an Innovation Challenge and a Panchayat representatives’ conference.
