Patna, May 7: Thursday marks a significant day in Bihar’s political landscape as preparations for the cabinet expansion are in the final stages. Enthusiasm is palpable among NDA leaders for this grand event set to take place at the historic Gandhi Maidan in the capital. BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi stated that this expansion is under the leadership of Samrat Chaudhary and is being meticulously planned to make it historic.
In an interview with a news agency, Sarawagi announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will personally attend the event, which is a matter of pride for Bihar.
Sarawagi noted that the Prime Minister’s visit, following a significant victory in West Bengal, will invigorate party workers in Bihar. The event will also see the presence of key leaders, including the Home Minister, Defence Minister, Health Minister, the National President of BJP, and several prominent NDA figures. Former Chief Ministers Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, and Jitan Ram Manjhi, along with other senior coalition leaders, are also expected to attend.
Sanjay Sarawagi hinted that the cabinet expansion may introduce some new faces. He emphasized that including new leaders in the expansion process is natural and will infuse fresh energy into the government.
Meanwhile, JD(U) MLA Bulu Mandal remarked that cabinet expansion is a routine process, after which all ministers will assume their respective departmental responsibilities. He assured that the government will work swiftly on development and public welfare issues.
Discussions are also heating up regarding the potential appointment of JD(U) leader Nishant Kumar as a minister. JD(U) Bihar state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha stated that this decision will ultimately be Nishant Kumar’s personal choice. However, there is a growing demand within the party for his inclusion in the cabinet. Kushwaha mentioned that Nishant Kumar wishes to consult with party workers to gauge their opinions before making any decisions.
The JD(U) state president described this opportunity as historic, suggesting that this event could provide a new direction for Bihar’s politics.
