Sukma, June 2: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has been touring the three districts of the state. During his visit, he held review meetings with officials and directed them to address the issues faced by villagers.
The Chief Minister stated that Bastar, once plagued by Naxalite violence, is now progressing on a new path of development and peace. While in Sukma, he highlighted the government’s efforts to provide basic amenities in Naxal-affected areas, empower farmers, and economically strengthen women.
In a press conference in Sukma, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai mentioned that officials are visiting each village for two days to assist the residents. This was also discussed in the review meeting, where it was decided that officials would remain in the area until the issues are resolved, ensuring that the region benefits from these efforts.
He acknowledged that some areas lagged in development due to Naxalite activities. The Prime Minister, Home Minister, and state government are concerned about this situation. We are working swiftly to advance development, with a focus on agriculture, as most residents depend on farming. Our emphasis is on improving irrigation and other facilities.
The Chief Minister announced that several schemes have been approved in the region. Women are being encouraged, and products made by self-help groups will be branded under the name ‘Bastar.’ Many women are becoming financially independent. Discussions were held in the review meeting regarding revenue-related issues, with directives issued to expedite processes.
He assured that despite the war situation in West Asia, there is no shortage of seeds and fertilizers for farmers. There may be some issues with DAP, but we are focusing on alternatives like Nano DAP fertilizers.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was on a tour of three districts. On June 1, he held a joint review meeting with officials from Dantewada, Bijapur, and Sukma, discussing development projects, law and order, revenue cases, drinking water, health services, and infrastructure development in detail.
He instructed officials to ensure timely resolution of public issues, effective implementation of schemes, and maintain quality, transparency, and accountability in development works, so that the benefits of governance reach the last person effectively. Special emphasis was placed on the ‘Bastar Munne’ and Chief Minister’s Healthy Bastar campaign, prioritizing child nutrition, maternal and child health, and improving health services in remote areas.
