Ayodhya, March 18: Ayodhya is all set for a special event at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir to mark the occasion of Vikram Samvat New Year. President Droupadi Murmu is expected to attend, and the day will commence with traditions of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Special arrangements have been made for devotees and invited guests.
The administration and the temple trust have completed extensive preparations for the event. Given the President’s anticipated presence, heightened security measures are in place.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, spoke to reporters at Bhartkuti in Karsevak Puram on Wednesday. He mentioned that volunteers will gather around the residences of invited guests on the day of the event. Following RSS traditions, a branch will be set up, a flag salute will be conducted, and the day will begin with the ‘Adya Sarsanghchalak Pranam.’
For the invited guests, eight different dining areas have been arranged. There are primarily two designated entrances for the temple complex: one in front of Birla Dharmshala and another at the Rang Mahal barrier. All invited guests must enter by 10 AM.
After the program concludes, around 1:15 PM, all invited guests will be allowed to have darshan. No special darshan passes will be issued for this day; however, regular arrangements for general devotees will continue. Additionally, the darshan timings will be extended for Navratri.
Regarding accommodation, guests from Eastern Uttar Pradesh will be housed to the east of the temple, while those arriving from Uttarakhand, Meerut, and Braj will be accommodated in the Ramghat and Dorahi Kuan areas. Facilities have also been arranged for construction collaborators arriving by bus at Chudamani Chowk and Teerth Kshetra Puram.
Champat Rai also informed that spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi has already arrived in Ayodhya with over 1,100 devotees. Many workers associated with the temple movement and the fund dedication campaign have also been invited, though not everyone could be accommodated due to space constraints.
He requested that invited guests have their meals or refreshments at their accommodations before entering. Light refreshments will be available at the event, with special considerations for those observing fasts. Guests may choose to return the same day or depart the following day.
