Ayodhya, February 26: Preparations for the upcoming Navratri and Ram Navami celebrations in Ayodhya have commenced, as per the Vedic calendar. This year, Chaitra Navratri will start on March 19 and conclude on March 27. To manage the expected influx of devotees and enhance security measures, district magistrates and officials have begun meetings.
District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram stated, “Chaitra Navratri begins on March 19, followed by Ram Navami on March 27. As this is the birthplace of Lord Ram, a significant number of devotees from both local and international locations visit for darshan, and the temple gates remain open throughout the day. We have also held discussions with trust officials regarding the preparations for the upcoming festivals.”
He added that President Droupadi Murmu will visit Ayodhya on March 19, necessitating heightened security measures for her arrival. “We have one month to prepare, and meetings are ongoing,” he noted.
Since the construction of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya has seen a continuous surge in devotees each year. Annually, 40 to 50 million people visit the Ram Temple and surrounding shrines. This year, a larger crowd is anticipated for Ram Navami. To ensure a smooth experience for devotees, the administration and temple authorities are collaborating on plans for easy access.
Additionally, on the first day of Navratri, President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Ayodhya for darshan, which is expected to increase the number of devotees. Consequently, decisions to enhance security at Ayodhya and the Ram Temple will be implemented.
