Guwahati, July 1: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday that various education schemes implemented by the state government have benefited over 3.6 million students. These initiatives have significantly reduced the financial burden of education on families, enabling more children to pursue their dreams.

The Chief Minister stated that the government’s numerous initiatives have reached thousands of schools and educational institutions across the state. The primary aim of these programs is to provide every child with better, accessible, and affordable education.

On the social media platform ‘X’, Chief Minister Sarma wrote, “Our various initiatives are positively impacting the lives of over 3.6 million students in Assam.” He added, “All our efforts are alleviating the burden on families, allowing every child to fulfill their dreams.”

According to data shared by the Chief Minister, the state government’s education mission has now included 4,523 schools, indicating that this campaign has reached a significant portion of Assam.

In recent years, the Assam government has launched several key initiatives to strengthen school education. These include improving school infrastructure, providing free textbooks and uniforms, offering bicycles and scholarships, and making special efforts to increase school enrollment while preventing dropouts.

The government has also taken steps to modernize educational institutions and promote technology-based learning, ensuring a better learning environment for students.

Officials state that the government is particularly focused on ensuring equal access to education for students in rural areas and economically weaker sections. Continuous improvements are being made to the quality of teaching and school infrastructure.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has repeatedly emphasized that education is one of his government’s top priorities. The state’s ongoing budgets have consistently allocated special importance to education, including expanding school infrastructure, enhancing digital learning facilities, and increasing budgets for student welfare programs. The government claims that these efforts are reducing the number of school dropouts and creating new opportunities for a better future for the children of the state.
