Assam Chief Minister Worships at Kamakhya Temple Amidst Thrilling Election Atmosphere

Guwahati, April 9: Voting is underway in Assam’s 126 assembly constituencies, creating an exciting electoral atmosphere. The contest primarily lies between the BJP-led NDA and the Congress-led opposition alliance. Assam Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Jalukbari, Himanta Biswa Sarma, visited the revered Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati with his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, to offer prayers before the voting commenced. Various candidates from different parties arrived at their polling stations to cast their votes and share their reactions.

Minister Piyush Hazarika, who voted in Ahatguri, stated, “I urge the public once again that we have not compromised on Assam’s development. Our sole focus is to advance Assam.”

Hazarika’s wife, Amy Barua, remarked, “It’s heartening to see people arriving to vote since morning. During this election campaign, I noticed that people are very happy and supportive of development. Many women are participating in the voting process in Assam.”

NDA candidate Atul Bora voted in traditional attire in Bokakhat, while independent former MLA Jiten Gogoi also cast his vote.

BJP candidate Rajdeep Goala from the Udharbond constituency expressed, “I wish all voters participating in this year’s election the best. I humbly request everyone to exercise their democratic rights. I hope Assam progresses on the path of development this year, with the public, citizens, and voters standing with the BJP in this movement.”

After voting in Nagaon, Congress MP Mohammad Rakibul Hussain said, “I came here to vote and exercise my democratic rights. I have no objections to the democratic process, so I voted with my entire family.”

AGP candidate Basant Das from Lakhimpur stated, “Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has done a good job and worked for development. Therefore, our government will be re-elected.”

NDA candidate Atul Bora from Bokakhat remarked, “Today is a memorable day. We have been working hard for this day for a long time. My polling station is right in front of my house. It’s great to see many women and youth coming out to vote. This is our constitutional and democratic right.”

NDA candidate Uttam Prasad from Dhubri urged, “Step out of your homes and cast your vote. We received tremendous support from the public during the campaign. Thank you for your support. If all goes well, the BJP will win here.”

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary stated, “I have voted. The NDA is in a strong position with 15 seats in the BTC region.”

BJP candidate Dr. Milan Das from Hailakandi said, “I have voted at my center and am visiting other centers as well. Voters are casting their votes in an orderly manner at all centers. I believe the voting pace should be a bit faster.”
