Assam Chief Minister Accuses Congress of Using Fake Documents to Mislead Public

Guwahati, April 6: A new controversy has erupted in Assam’s political landscape as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has leveled serious allegations against Congress leaders. He claims that during a recent press conference, fake documents were used with the intent to influence the electoral atmosphere.

Sarma stated that Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Gaurav Gogoi held press conferences in both Delhi and Guwahati on the same issue. He accused them of presenting fraudulent documents during these events.

According to Sarma, anyone attempting to mislead the public with fake documents could face charges under Sections 420 and 468 of the Indian Penal Code. The new Indian Penal Code has stringent provisions for such cases, especially when the aim is to sway election results.

The Chief Minister revealed that his wife has filed an FIR regarding this matter, and he is confident that the police will register a case under the appropriate sections and take action.

He also claimed that his team’s investigation found that the materials used in the press conference were sourced from a Pakistani social media group.

Sarma noted that in the past ten days, several discussions about the Assam elections have taken place on Pakistani channels, attempting to create a favorable environment for Congress.

Addressing allegations related to passports, Sarma mentioned that a genuine UAE passport was posted on social media by a Pakistani individual, while the documents shown by Congress were allegedly tampered with using AI. He also stated that a passport from Egypt is fake, which can be verified online.

Furthermore, he alleged that any company can be registered for a minimal amount, which has been exploited to create new companies under different names.

Sarma asserted that Congress has used documents obtained from Pakistani social media sources, indicating an attempt to influence the Assam elections.

However, he clarified that he is not accusing anyone specifically of being behind these documents and believes that the investigation agencies should handle this matter. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.
