Mumbai, December 2 – The second season of Asian Legends League Cricket is set to commence on January 19, running until February 1. This season will feature seven teams, with two new franchises added to the tournament. World Sports Group officially announced the launch of Asian Legends League Season 2 at an event in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The previous season included Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Panthers, and Asian Stars. This year, Gulf Gladiators and Pakistan Panthers have been added to the league lineup.
A total of 25 matches will be played this season, with each franchise competing in six league-stage matches under a round-robin format. The league promises to showcase legendary cricketers from around the world in action.
Veteran coach Madan Lal has been appointed as head of the technical committee for the second season of Asian Legends League Cricket. The former cricketer told Daily Kiran, “I wish for the Asian Legends League to become increasingly successful. I want more and more people to watch it. Young players can learn a lot from this.”
Former cricketer Sandeep Patil said, “I am very happy to be part of this league. I have played many matches after retirement. It feels great. This also gives opportunities to youngsters, especially those who missed watching their country’s players in action. This league will give them another chance. The entire world will see legendary cricketers playing in this league.”
India‘s former cricketer and renowned commentator Aakash Chopra commented, “I am excited because this is a seven-team tournament. It will be fantastic and more thrilling. We are very excited that this tournament is going to start in just a few days. I mean, our first match will be in about 40 days.”
