Jaipur, March 3: A shocking incident of gunfire occurred at a luxury hotel in Churu district, Rajasthan, resulting in the death of the hotel owner and serious injuries to three others, police reported on Tuesday.
The incident took place around 12:30 AM at ‘The Royal Treat’ hotel, located in the Bidasar area of the district. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Jai Yadav, three armed assailants entered the hotel premises and opened fire. The hotel owner, Maniram Manda, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Three others from Dadiba, Bhikaram Jat, Shravan Jat, and Prabhu Ram Prajapat, were critically injured in the attack.
CCTV footage of the incident emerged on Tuesday morning, capturing the gunfire within the hotel. Following the shooting, the hotel was immediately sealed off, and a heavy police presence was deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
The injured were initially taken to Bagdaria Hospital in Sujangarh for treatment. Due to their serious condition, they were later referred to Jaipur for advanced medical care.
Police sources indicated that the deceased, Maniram Manda, was involved in the liquor and hotel business. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder may be linked to ongoing rivalries with another group involved in the liquor trade. However, authorities stated that the exact motive for the murder would only be determined after a thorough investigation.
SP Jai Yadav mentioned that several police teams have been formed to track down and arrest the assailants. He noted that one suspect has been identified, and raids are being conducted at various locations to apprehend the other perpetrators.
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was called to the scene to collect crucial evidence. Officials reported that the situation is currently under control, and further details will emerge once a formal case is registered and the investigation progresses.
