Notorious Robber Arrested in Welcome Area of New Delhi

New Delhi, March 19: The police in New Delhi’s Welcome area have achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting a notorious robber. Authorities recovered two stolen mobile phones and a knife used in the crime from the suspect. The police announced this operation on Thursday.

According to a press release from the police, on the evening of March 17, Mohammad Salman (18) and a 14-year-old girl approached a patrolling police team, which included Head Constable Sandeep and Constable Gaurav. They reported that an unknown individual had robbed them of their mobile phones at knifepoint near Jhilmil Park and fled the scene.

Given the seriousness of the incident, an FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 309(4)/317(2) at Welcome police station, and an investigation was initiated. During the investigation, the police team swiftly gathered clues from the vicinity of the crime scene and apprehended a suspect. The accused was identified as Abhishek, alias Baba (24), son of Mukesh, a resident of Welcome, New Delhi.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the robbery. Following his directions, the police recovered both stolen mobile phones and the knife used in the crime. The investigation revealed that the accused has a history of involvement in four previous robbery and snatching cases. The police are currently conducting further inquiries into the matter.
