Kolkata, March 8: Former Union Minister and MP Anurag Singh Thakur addressed a large gathering in the Naihati assembly of North 24 Parganas today. He criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for opposing the President and Governor while welcoming infiltrators and mafia elements into West Bengal.
Thakur stated, “Mamata is not the Chief Minister of the state; she is the leader of the mafia, jihadists, and infiltrators. It is essential for the TMC government to be replaced by the BJP for the protection of Bengal’s identity and resources.”
He emphasized that the upcoming assembly elections in Bengal are crucial for safeguarding Bengali pride, culture, and existence. Thakur pointed out the ongoing infiltration of Bangladeshis into the state, alleging that the Congress, Communists, and TMC have systematically facilitated this for electoral gains.
The BJP MP criticized the West Bengal government for failing to create new industries for the youth, instead allowing ministers and party workers to engage in corruption. He noted that over 12 ministers and leaders have been arrested for corruption-related offenses.
“When their leaders are caught in corruption cases, their health suddenly deteriorates, and Mamata declares them innocent. She even confronts investigative agencies on their behalf. Central agencies fear Mamata more than the criminals when they come to investigate in Bengal,” Thakur remarked.
He also highlighted the insecurity faced by women in schools and colleges under TMC rule, stating that victims often have to repeatedly visit courts for justice. Both the Communists and TMC have ruled Bengal for fifty years, leading to a legacy of misgovernance. Thakur asserted that Bengal needs good governance and that the BJP can provide it.
“The TMC came to power with the slogan of ‘Maa, Mati, Manush.’ However, Mamata has taken away the mothers, the mafia has consumed the land, and money power has devoured the people. Now, it has become a government of Mamata, mafia, and money power,” he said.
Thakur expressed concerns over the safety of Hindus, temples, women, judges, and even livestock in Bengal. He criticized Mamata for plunging the state into a debt crisis over the past 15 years, with West Bengal now holding the highest debt in the country, exceeding 8 lakh crore rupees.
He concluded by stating that the TMC has left no stone unturned in ruining Bengal, but under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the BJP is committed to the state’s welfare.
