Amaravati, May 1: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Friday the establishment of ‘labor hubs’ across the state to assist workers with skill enhancement. In the first phase, these centers will be launched in 15 major cities and towns.
This announcement was made during a ceremony in Pamidimukkala village, Krishna district, where outstanding workers and employers were honored with labor awards on the occasion of International Workers’ Day.
Naidu stated that these labor hubs will eventually evolve into skill development centers, enabling workers to improve their qualifications and secure better employment opportunities.
To strengthen health facilities for workers, new ESI hospitals will be set up in locations such as Achyutapuram, Guntur, Kurnool, Sri City, and Amaravati.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to the state’s development, paralleling the hard work of laborers. The symbol of the Telugu Desam Party represents workers and farmers, and the government is dedicated to uplifting impoverished families.
Highlighting various welfare schemes, the Chief Minister mentioned financial assistance of ₹25,000 for construction workers and their daughters’ marriages, ₹20,000 for childbirth, ₹60,000 for natural deaths, and ₹20,000 for funerals. Additionally, four labor courts are available for dispute resolution.
Naidu asserted that the government views the well-being of its citizens as a responsibility and does not consider expenditure on welfare schemes as a burden.
Regarding the Machilipatnam Port project, he noted that land acquisition occurred in 2014, but the previous government canceled tenders in 2019, causing delays. Currently, breakwater, dredging, and offshore work are progressing rapidly, with a goal to complete the port by December this year.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that significant investments are flowing into the state, with Reliance investing in large data centers, and companies like Google showing interest.
He praised Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for reforms in the Panchayat Raj sector and Education Minister Nara Lokesh for changes in the education sector, which have led to improved results for Class 10 students.
Naidu criticized the opposition, alleging that the previous government harmed the system, while the current administration has been focused on strengthening it for the past 22 months.
