Alwar Police Uncovers Inter-State ATM Theft Gang, Recovers Stolen Machine

Jaipur, June 25: The Alwar district police, along with the District Special Team (DST), has achieved a significant breakthrough by dismantling an inter-state ATM theft gang. This operation resolved the case of an ATM theft at Rathi Market.

In a swift action, police arrested two criminals and recovered a damaged ATM machine, along with an Isuzu tractor and a motorcycle used in the crime.

Alwar Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary stated that the operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Deepak Kumar and Ramgarh Circle Officer Pintu Kumar.

To solve this case, special teams from the Industrial Town police station, DST, and Cyclone Cell were formed under the leadership of Station House Officer (SHO) Bhupendra Singh.

On the night of June 17, unidentified thieves targeted an ATM located in Rathi Market, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Town police station. The ATM contained ₹492,500 in cash.

The perpetrators uprooted the entire machine and fled with it. Following a complaint from the bank administration, a case was registered, and an investigation commenced.

During the investigation, police discovered that the gang had adopted a new method for committing crimes. They employed a local accomplice to identify and survey the target location. However, fearing identification and arrest, they did not involve this local contact in the actual theft.

The criminals tied the ATM machine with ropes or chains and used a vehicle to pull it from the ground. After uprooting it, they loaded the heavy machine into a vehicle and escaped.

Police teams reviewed footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras installed along major highways and routes in Rajasthan and Haryana.

With the help of human intelligence and technical analysis from the Cyclone Cell, investigators identified the suspects.

During a subsequent raid, police recovered the damaged ATM machine and seized an Isuzu tractor and a motorcycle.

The arrested individuals include Hambeer Singh (42), son of Tej Singh, a resident of Garouli village, and Kamlesh Kumar Meena (36), son of Harphool Meena, a resident of Birpur village.

The criminal network extended across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

During initial questioning, both suspects confessed to stealing three tractors from Uttar Pradesh and Faridabad. They also admitted involvement in major ATM thefts in Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Palwal, and Hisar (Haryana).

Police described both as habitual and experienced criminals with extensive criminal records.

Hambeer Singh has 14 criminal cases registered against him at various police stations, including Baroda Mev, Sadar Deeg, Nadbai, and Sikandra (Dausa). These cases involve theft-related provisions, the Arms Act, and the Excise Act.

Kamlesh Kumar Meena has seven criminal cases registered against him at Tehla (Alwar) and Baswa (Dausa) police stations, including offenses related to the Electricity Act, assault, and rioting.

This operation was executed by SHO Bhupendra Singh, ASI Mahesh Chand, Khem Singh, Devki Nandan, and Constables Saddam and Rakesh.

The DST Unit 1 and 2 personnel played a crucial role in locating and apprehending the suspects, including SI Dheerendra Singh, ASI Harvilas, and Jagveer, along with Head Constable Dayaram and Constables Kartar, Samudra, Kanha Ram, Hariom, Deen Mohammad, Devendra, and Murarilal.

Technical investigations were led by Cyclone Cell personnel, including Head Constable Sandeep Kumar and Constables Sanjay and Amit.

ASI Kasam Khan and Jan Mohammad made significant contributions to this operation.

Thanks to their precise intelligence, the police successfully located and arrested the suspects, uncovering the inter-state gang.
