Mumbai, June 22: Anand Dubey, spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), has clarified the party’s political position, stating that they have no involvement with either Operation Lotus or Operation Tiger. He emphasized that their primary goal is to work for the people’s interests, a commitment they intend to uphold.
In a conversation with journalists on Monday, Dubey remarked that the party was strategically undermined in 2022. Despite this, they managed to secure nine seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, even under challenging circumstances. In contrast, Eknath Shinde’s faction succeeded in winning only seven seats. Dubey noted that Devendra Fadnavis is aware that the public disapproves of such tactics, yet he continues to engage with the electorate.
Additionally, Dubey addressed the alleged misappropriation of donations for the Ram Temple. He stated that since the Maha Kumbh, devotees have contributed their hard-earned money with the belief that it would benefit society. The funds were intended for building hospitals and schools, and to assist the needy. However, he criticized the ongoing mismanagement of these funds, claiming that key figures like Nripendra Mishra and Champat Rai remain silent. He questioned the likelihood of a fair investigation given the connections between the accused and the government.
He asserted that if similar allegations had arisen during a non-BJP administration, the accused would likely have been imprisoned by now. Dubey lamented the political exploitation of Lord Ram’s name and demanded action under treason laws to restore faith among Ram devotees.
Dubey also commented on the internal turmoil within Shiv Sena (UBT). He noted that when reports emerged on June 16 about six of their MPs being unreachable, it became clear that they would not remain loyal. He expressed concern over the betrayal of trust, stating that they had provided these individuals with resources and support to contest against Shinde’s faction. He questioned the integrity of those who, after gaining power, choose to abandon their roots.
In response to Uddhav Thackeray’s recent statements, Dubey affirmed that Shiv Sena was founded on June 19, 1986, and remains true to its original values. He dismissed the notion that splinter groups, including Shinde’s faction, represent legitimate parties, labeling them as mere factions. He advised the Samajwadi Party to remain vigilant against such political maneuvers.
