Mumbai, April 1: The sitcom ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’ may have gone off-air, but over the past seven years, the show and its characters have carved a special place in fans’ hearts, especially Amma Ji and Happu.
These characters have the unique ability to make audiences laugh and sometimes even cry. Himani Shivpuri, who portrayed Amma Ji, frequently shares nostalgic memories from the show on social media. Recently, she posted a remarkable dance video, revealing the hard work behind it.
In the Instagram clip, she dances energetically to the song ‘Damadam Mast Kalander,’ draped in a shawl. At 65, she moves with the grace of a 35-year-old, but executing this scene was challenging for her. According to the actress, she was experiencing knee pain and found it difficult to stand for long periods. However, as an actor, she felt it was essential to prioritize her performance over her discomfort.
In her caption, she explained, “You know the story behind this; sometimes actors perform despite physical limitations. I had a sprained ankle, but the script required me to dance in front of the entire family. Our director, Ritvik, was concerned about how to manage it. He asked me, ‘Should I cancel it?’ I replied, ‘Give me a shawl, play the music.’ As you can see, my feet barely moved; I just twirled the shawl!”
Fans have been enamored by Amma Ji’s dedication and dance, showering her with praise. Many believe that the hard work of Amma Ji and the other characters is what kept the sitcom winning hearts for seven years.
Previously, Himani shared a final behind-the-scenes video from the set, introducing the crew members who worked tirelessly. She remarked, “We’ve been working together for seven years, but some characters have left while others are still part of the show. This show and everyone associated with it are special to us.”
