New Delhi, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the importance of Ashok Singhal’s life as a source of inspiration for India’s youth during the inauguration of the centenary celebrations for the former International President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The event took place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Ashok Singhal Foundation.
Shah paid heartfelt tribute to the visionary leader, who devoted his life to Indian culture, spiritual awareness, and the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. The ceremony honored Singhal’s inspiring life, his far-sighted ideas, and his unparalleled contributions to the nation and society.
Addressing a packed hall of Ram devotees, Shah remarked that Singhal dedicated his entire life to preserving the country’s cultural heritage and society. His contributions to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and commitment to cultural revival will always be remembered.
He praised the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Ashok Singhal Foundation for celebrating Singhal’s birth centenary, noting that this initiative helps spread his values and contributions, especially among the youth. Shah expressed confidence that this celebration would serve as a milestone in passing on his thoughts and legacy to future generations.
Swami Paramanand Giri Maharaj, a revered leader, stated that it is the duty of every citizen to protect the country’s heritage. He urged the audience to remain vigilant towards their society and religion and work hard to make the nation stronger and more progressive, reflecting Singhal’s ideology. The event began with the chanting of Vedic mantras by 100 scholars.
A highlight of the program was the launch of a coffee table book titled “Divine Footprints of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram,” which underscores the impact of Lord Ram’s life values and ideals on Indian society. Additionally, a replica of the “Shri Ram Stambh” was unveiled for public display.
Dattatreya Hosabale, General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, noted the rare combination of Singhal’s firm convictions and deep sensitivity to the suffering of others. Once he made a decision, he remained steadfast, focusing not on the challenges but on achieving his goals. His contributions spanned cultural heritage, community service, and the preservation of traditions, showcasing his remarkable ability to turn determination into organized action.
During the event, a digital launch of the “Shri Ram Stambh” was also held, set to be established along the Ram Van Gaman Path in Ayodhya. This initiative aims to connect the public with the memories of Lord Ram’s journey and the associated cultural and spiritual sites.
Moreover, a special exhibition featuring photographs, documents, and historical materials related to Singhal’s life, spiritual values, organizational efforts, and his role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement was showcased.
Alok Kumar, International President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, remarked that Singhal’s life is a living source of Indian culture, spiritual consciousness, and selfless dedication to the nation. He emphasized that the centenary year is not merely a time to remember Singhal but also a commitment to carry forward his ideals, spirit of service, and love for India to future generations.
