Political Turmoil Erupts Over LPU Incident as Sukhbir Badal Alleges Conspiracy

Sukhbir Badal accuses AAP of orchestrating chaos at LPU, citing external involvement and political distractions amid ongoing investigations.

Chandigarh, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : The recent unrest at Lovely Professional University (LPU) has ignited a political storm in Punjab. Sukhbir Singh Badal, the president of the Shiromani Akali Dal, has launched a direct attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

In a post on the social media platform X, Badal expressed his shock at the discovery of individuals armed with walkie-talkies inside LPU, claiming that courageous students apprehended these outsiders. He stated, “The presence of these individuals proves that this is a larger conspiracy. I want to know where the police registered the FIR after the arrests.”

Badal emphasized that such incidents are not new for AAP. He referenced a similar pattern in Malerkotla, where AAP leader Naresh Yadav was implicated in a controversy involving the disrespect of the Holy Quran and subsequently jailed.

He accused Arvind Kejriwal and his Delhi leaders of attempting to divert the attention of Punjabis from significant issues, particularly recent revelations of a ₹10,000 crore scam involving the Enforcement Directorate.

“They want to distract from the fact that their faction is illegally occupying government bungalows in Chandigarh and trying to control Punjab through proxies,” Badal asserted. He also criticized Chief Minister Mann, labeling him a betrayer of the Sikh community and claiming that he has once again failed the people of Punjab.

Badal concluded by stating that Mann’s primary responsibility should have been to ensure peace and security. Instead, he alleged that the Chief Minister is misusing government machinery for political gains rather than ensuring the safety of students.
