Mumbai, May 27: Amazon has expanded its smart speaker lineup in India with the introduction of the Amazon Echo Dot Max and Amazon Echo Studio. These new Alexa-powered devices aim to provide a superior audio experience while enhancing smart home connectivity and automation features. Alongside improved sound systems, Amazon has unveiled a refreshed design and faster performance thanks to custom silicon chips.
Key Features of Amazon Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio
The Echo Dot Max is the most advanced Echo Dot speaker to date. It boasts a redesigned two-way speaker setup that includes a dedicated woofer and tweeter combination, designed to deliver deeper bass and clearer vocals.
According to Amazon, this speaker offers nearly three times the bass of the previous Echo Dot (5th Gen). Additionally, it adapts audio output based on room conditions to enhance the listening experience.
The Echo Studio targets users seeking a more immersive entertainment setup. It supports spatial audio with Dolby Atmos and features a high-excursion woofer paired with three full-range drivers for expansive sound.
Amazon has also transitioned to a more compact spherical design with a fabric finish while ensuring acoustic transparency. Both smart speakers support music streaming from services like Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Audible.
In addition to audio enhancements, the new Echo devices incorporate Amazon’s Omnisense technology, which combines audio, motion, ultrasound, and temperature sensing for smarter home automation. Users can connect compatible smart lights, fans, air conditioners, and other devices via built-in support for Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, Matter, and Bluetooth.
The Echo Dot Max is the first in its lineup to feature a built-in smart home hub. Amazon claims that the custom AZ3 chips inside the speakers enhance Alexa’s wake-word detection and responsiveness during conversations.
Pricing and Availability of Amazon Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio
The Echo Dot Max is available in Graphite, Amethyst, and Glacier White color options for Rs 10,999. The Echo Studio comes in Graphite and Glacier White shades, priced at Rs 23,999.
Both smart speakers are now available for purchase through Amazon India and Flipkart. Amazon has also announced that these devices will support Alexa+, its upcoming generative AI-powered assistant, once it launches in India.
