New Delhi, June 24: BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has leveled serious allegations of land grabbing and corruption against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his son, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, through the Siddharth Vihar Trust. Bhandari claims that this is not an isolated incident but involves multiple cases where the Kharge family allegedly seized land from the poor.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP office, Bhandari stated that Mallikarjun Kharge and his son are implicated in land acquisition and corruption through a trust named Siddharth Vihar. The trust includes Mallikarjun Kharge, his son Priyank, his son-in-law, and his wife.
Bhandari asserted that he would present multiple instances of alleged corruption involving Mallikarjun Kharge, demonstrating how he has used this trust to illegally occupy various parcels of land, exploiting his power to seize land from the impoverished and attempting to grab land in several locations.
He highlighted the first case involving the Siddharth Vihar Trust, which received approval from the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) in 2024, during the Congress government in Karnataka. The purpose was purportedly for research and development in the aerospace and defense sectors. The market value of the five-acre plot is now estimated at 100 crore rupees. Instead of being allocated to an industrial or aerospace trust, it was granted to a private trust owned by the Congress President, which has not conducted any research or development activities.
Bhandari also pointed out that similar allegations of land grabbing are facing Rahul Gandhi and the entire Gandhi-Vadra family, including his brother-in-law Robert Vadra. He claimed that Mallikarjun Kharge adopted the same methods as the Gandhi-Vadra family. This constitutes a violation under Sections 131A and 131B of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The BJP spokesperson questioned Mallikarjun Kharge, asking what work his trust has accomplished that would justify the allocation of aerospace and defense research land to his private trust.
Bhandari noted that the Congress government in Karnataka has allocated 19 acres of land to Kharge’s private trust, implying that 19 acres of government land became private property of a trust that includes Kharge and his family members. He demanded an explanation from the Congress Party regarding why public funds were misappropriated and called for Kharge to respond to the corruption allegations.
He referenced another case, stating that this is not the only instance. He mentioned that the Siddharth Vihar Trust engaged in dubious activities by creating a fake seller. The trust intended to transfer land, which has now permanently gone to Mallikarjun Kharge’s private trust in Gulbarga. The identity of this seller remains unknown, highlighting a third method of alleged corruption involving the creation of a fictitious seller.
