Mumbai, August 18: The makers of Akshay Oberoi’s suspense thriller and courtroom drama film ‘Love Lottery’ released the teaser on Tuesday. Inspired by true events, the film addresses the complexities of relationships and men’s rights.
The 38-second teaser raises serious questions about the alleged misuse of laws concerning women and the need for greater awareness regarding men’s rights. In the teaser, Akshay Oberoi, along with co-stars Healy Daruwala and others, appears in emotional and tense scenes. Oberoi’s character seems engulfed in questions and dilemmas, while the mysterious entries of other characters add to the suspense.
The plot revolves around Karthik Saxena, a corporate professional whose marital life becomes complicated upon discovering his wife’s affair. Amidst divorce and false domestic violence allegations, his wife is murdered, making Karthik the prime suspect. He then embarks on a challenging legal battle to prove his innocence. Directed by Arvind Pandey, the story is penned by Ankur Khatri, with Kuldeep Bhargav Tushar producing under the Cinemaganj Films banner.
The film features a talented cast, including Kabir Duhan Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Hemant Pandey, Indira Krishnan, Santosh Shukla, Vikram Sharma, Agni Agriyari, Kumar Saurabh, Ashwant Lodhi, and Arshdeep Sandhu in significant roles.
Akshay Oberoi stated that the film aims to portray a story related to issues that are often not discussed openly. He emphasized, “Our film addresses topics that men in our society often hesitate to talk about or feel ashamed of. Due to the misuse of certain laws, a section of society has suffered for a lifetime. This film is a voice for those who have experienced such situations. I believe that victims are not just men; their mothers, sisters, or any close female relative can also be affected.”
Director Arvind shared his perspective on the film, stating, “Through ‘Love Lottery,’ we aim to discuss a sensitive issue that is generally not talked about, using crime, suspense, and emotion. The film does not target or blame any one gender; rather, it raises questions about what happens when laws, relationships, and personal conflicts intertwine.”
Producer Kuldeep Bhargav Tushar expressed his intention to narrate the story in an engaging manner while leaving the audience with thought-provoking questions.
Writer Ankur Khatri noted, “The theme of ‘Love Lottery’ is very sensitive, and our biggest responsibility was to present it with balance and understanding. The film shows how love, trust, and marriage can sometimes take unexpected turns.”
