Jason Sanjays Sigma Release Date Rescheduled for Global Premiere

Mumbai, August 18: The release date for the highly anticipated Tamil film ‘Sigma,’ directed by Jason Sanjay, has been officially announced. The film will now hit theaters worldwide on October 2, 2026. The producers revealed this news via social media on Tuesday. Initially, the film was set to release on July 31, but the date has been pushed back.

Sandeep Kishan stars in the lead role. The film is produced by Lyca Productions, which shared the release date announcement on their Instagram account, stating, “Mark your calendars for October 2. ‘Sigma’ is ready to make waves in theaters.”

Earlier, the release was scheduled for July 31, 2026. In July, Sandeep Kishan had informed fans on social media that he had completed dubbing for his role in the film. At that time, he mentioned that his dubbing for ‘Sigma’ was finished and it would release on July 31. However, the producers later decided to delay the release.

Filming for the movie wrapped up last December. At that time, Lyca Productions announced the completion of the shoot on social media, sharing behind-the-scenes moments where the entire team celebrated the wrap.

Audience anticipation for ‘Sigma’ is notably high, largely due to its director, Jason Sanjay. This marks his directorial debut, and he is the son of Tamil Nadu‘s Chief Minister and renowned actor Vijay. As such, there has been significant interest in his first film from the outset.

Actress Catherine Tresa will also feature in the film, reportedly dancing alongside Sandeep Kishan in a special song.

The story revolves around a protagonist who lives life by his own rules. Viewers can expect a blend of heists, treasure hunts, mystery, adventure, and humor.

‘Sigma’ has been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, with filming locations including Chennai and Salem.
