Mumbai, August 18: Bollywood actress Seema Pahwa took to social media on Tuesday to reminisce about her two iconic films, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.’
The actress shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram featuring her co-stars from both films. One of the pictures shows Pahwa with Kriti Sanon, while another captures her with Bhumi Pednekar. She also posted a candid shot of herself dining with Ayushmann Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi, and others.
In her post, she wrote, “Celebrating 9 years of ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.’” She tagged Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, director R.S. Prasanna, and other collaborators from both films.
Both films were released in 2017 and became significant milestones in the careers of their casts. ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi,’ directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, hit theaters on August 18, 2017. The film stars Kriti Sanon as Bitti Mishra, Ayushmann Khurrana as Chirag Dubey, and Rajkummar Rao as Preetam Vidrohi, with Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa portraying Bitti’s parents, Narottam and Sushila Mishra.
The plot centers around Bitti, a free-spirited girl who defies societal expectations. Her life takes a turn when she discovers a novel titled ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi,’ leading her to believe that the author understands her.
On the other hand, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ is a popular Hindi comedy-drama film released in 2017, also directed by R.S. Prasanna. The film addresses a sensitive male issue (erectile dysfunction) in a light-hearted and humorous manner.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar play the lead roles, while Seema Pahwa delivers a stellar performance as Sugandha’s mother, Vimla. The story revolves around a couple whose marriage is arranged, but before the wedding, Mudit discovers a hidden physical issue, creating comedic and awkward situations for both families.
