Mumbai, August 18: The teaser for the upcoming Bengali film ‘Bahuroopi – The Golden Daku,’ directed by Shiboprasad Mukherjee, has recently been released and is receiving an overwhelming response from audiences. The teaser showcases an intense confrontation between the characters played by Shiboprasad and Jeetu Sengupta, heightening anticipation for the film. The narrative revolves around this clash, which is central to the story.

In the film, Shiboprasad portrays the notorious dacoit Vikram Pramanik, who returns driven by a desire for revenge. He operates outside the law, adhering to his own set of rules. On the other hand, Jeetu Sengupta plays a determined police officer, fully committed to capturing the criminal. The stark contrast between their paths adds depth to the film’s conflict.

In an interview, Shiboprasad expressed his excitement about the audience’s reaction to the teaser, which has garnered over a million views. He stated, “While the teaser has received fantastic feedback, I want to emphasize that this is just a glimpse. The real thrill is yet to come, and the world we will introduce to the audience will provide an exhilarating experience.”

Discussing his dynamic with Jeetu Sengupta’s character, Shiboprasad noted, “Our characters share an adversarial relationship, standing on completely different sides of the law. Jeetu plays a fearless police officer relentlessly pursuing criminals, while I embody a notorious dacoit who follows his own rules. This confrontation creates tension and excitement in the story.”

‘Bahuroopi – The Golden Daku’ will also highlight elements of Bengal’s folk culture, featuring traditional artists from Malda. Their songs, masks, and folk performances will add a unique flavor to the film.

The cast includes Shiboprasad Mukherjee, Jeetu Sengupta, Kaushani Mukherjee, and Sohini Sarkar in lead roles. The film is co-directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee, produced under the Windows Production banner. ‘Bahuroopi – The Golden Daku’ is set to release during Durga Puja in 2026.
