Mumbai, August 18: Renowned music composer Amal Malik has composed the title track “Ye Awarapan” for the film “Awarapan-2,” starring Emraan Hashmi. In a recent conversation, he shared his deep connection with his favorite singers, Arijit Singh and his brother Armaan Malik. Amal emphasized the strong bond he shares with both artists.
Amal stated, “My relationship with Arijit and Armaan is such that if I don’t understand something in a song they’ve sung, I directly point it out. There have been times when I’ve suggested that another singer should perform the final version of the song.”
He added, “With Armaan and Arijit, I can straightforwardly say, ‘This song will be sung by Armaan or Arijit. You both try it out, and we’ll see who does it best.’ I would like to mention that just as Arijit sang many demos to become who he is today, Armaan has also assisted in recordings with Sonu Nigam and KK.”
Amal noted that Armaan has recorded several songs with Arijit, allowing him to learn from these experiences. However, he expressed concern that today’s singers are missing out on learning the intricacies of the industry, as composers are increasingly using AI for scratch vocals.
The title track “Ye Awarapan” is an emotional and poignant song, beautifully rendered by the talented Arijit Singh, with music by Amal Malik and lyrics penned by Rashmi Virag.
“Awarapan-2” is an action thriller that was released in theaters on August 14, 2026. It serves as a sequel to the popular 2007 film “Awarapan,” directed by Nitin Kakkar.
