Ajay Rai Claims Police Detention Before Ayodhya Visit Amid Controversy

Ayodhya, June 30: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged misappropriation of donations for the Ram Temple, Ajay Rai, the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, has accused the police of detaining him before his visit to the temple. In a video message, he claimed that he has been confined at the guest house of Acharya Narendra Dev University and is facing mental harassment along with other Congress leaders.

In his video, Ajay Rai showed the view from the guest house, stating that he has been locked alone in a room. He asserted that the door is secured from the outside, and despite his efforts, it remains shut. Additionally, the grills outside the guest house have also been locked, preventing him from exiting.

Ajay Rai expressed that he is being subjected to severe mental torment. He noted that no one has checked on his well-being. He remains resolute in his determination to visit Lord Ram and will not leave without doing so. In his message, he accused the state government and administration of adopting a double standard.

He pointed out that while Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal is invited to Ayodhya for a visit to Ram Lalla with full VIP treatment, Congress leaders are being obstructed.

Ajay Rai further alleged that other Congress members, including Kishori Lal, Ujjwal Raman, Rakesh Rathore, Tanuj Puniya, former Legislative Council member Deepak Singh, A.P. Gautam, MLA Virendra Chaudhary, and former MLA Meeta Gautam, have also been placed under house arrest. He claimed that such actions are being taken by the administration to prevent Congress leaders from visiting the Ram Temple.
