Rs 648 IR Pack Withdrawn

The discontinued Rs 648 pack earlier offered:

  • Unlimited data (1GB high-speed, then 80 Kbps)

  • 100 minutes of outgoing and incoming calls to India and local numbers

  • 10 outgoing SMS

  • International calls at Rs 45 per minute

The plan is no longer available for activation, though Airtel has not made an official announcement.

New Entry-Level IR Pack at Rs 2,999

With the change, the Rs 2,999 IR pack becomes the cheapest available option for postpaid users. It offers:

  • 10-day validity

  • Unlimited data (10GB high-speed, then 80 Kbps)

  • 100 minutes of calls per day (local and India)

  • 20 outgoing SMS

  • International calls at Rs 45 per minute

Airtel Revises IR Data Top-Ups

  • The Rs 699 top-up, which previously came with 2GB data for the duration of the base pack, now has a 5-day validity.

  • New high-value top-ups include:

    • Rs 2,499 pack: 8GB data, 10-day validity

    • Rs 15,000 pack: 40GB data, 30-day validity

Wider Tariff Revisions in 2025

The change follows recent tariff moves by both Airtel and Reliance Jio, including the withdrawal of entry-level 1GB-per-day prepaid plans. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has sought clarifications from both operators but has so far found “no significant urgency for intervention.”

Both Jio and Airtel recently removed their Rs 249 prepaid plans (1GB/day for 28 days) from online platforms. While Jio’s plan reportedly remains available through offline stores, Airtel has updated its website to confirm the withdrawal.

With IR packs and prepaid tariffs being revised, analysts expect more phased hikes in the coming months as operators push for higher average revenue per user (ARPU).
