AIIMS Guwahati Invites Applications for 103 Senior Resident Positions

Guwahati, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Guwahati, Assam, has announced an exciting opportunity for medical professionals. The institute is recruiting for 103 Senior Resident/Senior Demonstrator positions on a contract basis for a duration of three years. This announcement was made through an official notification on September 4.

The available positions are spread across various departments. These include 3 in Anesthesiology, 5 in Anatomy, 3 in Biochemistry, 2 in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, 3 in Community and Family Medicine, 1 in Dermatology, 1 in Endocrinology, 1 in ENT, 1 in Gastroenterology, 11 in General Medicine, 14 in General Surgery, 1 in Hospital Administration, 2 in Medical Oncology/Hematology, 4 in Microbiology, 1 in Neonatology, 1 in Nephrology, 2 in Neurosurgery, 1 in Nuclear Medicine, 7 in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 3 in Ophthalmology, 1 in Orthopedics, 2 in Pediatric Surgery, 3 in Pediatrics, 3 in Pathology, 6 in Pharmacology, 3 in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 3 in Physiology, 1 in Pulmonary Medicine, 2 in Radiology, 1 in Surgical Gastroenterology, 4 in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Bank, 5 in Trauma and Emergency Medicine, and 2 in Urology.

The online application process began on September 4 and will close on September 18. Interested candidates can complete their registration on the official AIIMS Guwahati website before the deadline.

Applicants must possess a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant field from a recognized institution or university. Candidates with an MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as non-medical applicants holding an MSc or PhD, are also eligible.

The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 45 years, calculated as of the final date for submitting the application form. Age relaxation is available for candidates from reserved categories as per government norms.

Selection will be based on application screening, interviews, and document verification. Selected medical candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹67,700, while non-medical candidates (MSc and PhD holders) will earn ₹56,100. Additional benefits and allowances will also be provided.

Interviews will be held at the Director’s Board Room, Medical College Building, AIIMS Guwahati. Document verification is scheduled to start at 8 AM, followed by interviews at 9 AM, with specific dates to be announced soon.

Applicants must pay an application fee online, which is set at ₹1,000 for General/OBC candidates and ₹500 for SC/ST/EWS candidates. Candidates from the PWD category are exempt from the registration fee.
