Pune, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Maharashtra’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) legislator Rohit Pawar has raised serious concerns regarding the recent Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) paper leak. Speaking to a news agency on Saturday, he highlighted that students affected by the leak are questioning the integrity of the examination process, particularly concerning the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) paper that was compromised.
Pawar emphasized that students are demanding the removal of the MPSC chairman, who faces multiple corruption allegations. They are concerned about the lack of guarantees against future paper leaks, prompting calls for immediate action.
He stated that the entire examination system at MPSC needs reform, particularly in the areas of paper checking and setting. Many officials have been in their positions for over eight to ten years, which contradicts regulations that prevent individuals from serving more than three years in the same role. This situation, according to Pawar, requires urgent government intervention.
Students are insisting that the new MPSC chairman should be someone with a reputable background, ensuring a transparent and efficient examination process. They believe that only after such changes will they be able to place their trust in MPSC for future exams.
Pawar warned that if the current chairman is not removed within two to three days, a significant protest will take place in Pune, potentially larger than a recent demonstration in Amravati. He urged the government and the MPSC president to resign and allow for a fresh leadership to restore confidence in the commission.
