Prime Minister Modis Visit to SRCC Marks a Historic Teachers Day Celebration

New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attendance at the centenary celebration of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) has been hailed as a historic event by the college administration. On Teacher’s Day, Principal Simrit Kaur and Vice Principal Professor Aruna expressed that the Prime Minister’s visit is a significant honor for both the institution and its educators.

Principal Kaur praised Modi’s leadership and vision, describing them as broad and impactful. His acceptance of the invitation to celebrate the college’s 100th year has created a sense of joy and pride within the SRCC community and across Delhi University. The college, as part of the university, feels this honor extends to the entire institution. During the invitation on April 25, a special stamp was issued, and now, a commemorative coin will also be released for the centenary celebration.

Kaur emphasized the importance of Teacher’s Day during the college’s centenary, noting that teachers play a crucial role in educational institutions. Without proper guidance and mentorship, she mentioned, students may struggle to find the right direction. She credited the college’s achievements to its teachers and alumni, highlighting that former students have succeeded in various fields worldwide, bringing recognition to the institution. She referred to these alumni as “global citizens.”

The Prime Minister not only embodies a working leader but also inspires youth to contribute to the development of a stronger India, Kaur added. She stressed the importance of youth participation in inclusive and sustainable development.

Vice Principal Professor Aruna, who has been teaching at SRCC for nearly 30 years, reflected on the pride she feels as the Prime Minister honors teachers on this special day. She noted that while she has received love and respect from students over the years, having the country’s Prime Minister acknowledge educators is an extraordinary moment. Aruna also mentioned Modi’s political journey, recalling his influential presence as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, which has now expanded to a national level.

She pointed out that discussions about the Gujarat model have led to the adoption of the Indian model in various regions. Aruna highlighted India’s progress across multiple sectors, indicating the nation’s advancement.
