New Delhi (Patrika English News): Adani Power Limited will invest $3 billion (around ₹26,482 crore) to set up a 2,400 MW ultra super-critical power plant in Bihar.

The company announced on Saturday that it has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL). Under this agreement, electricity from the project will be supplied to the state from a new plant to be established in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur district.
Project Details
Adani Power will develop the project under the design, build, finance, own, and operate model, covering three units of 800 MW each along with allied infrastructure. The company aims to make the plant operational within 60 months.
The project was awarded to Adani Power after it offered a minimum supply tariff of ₹6.075 per kilowatt hour. This PSA follows the Letter of Award issued by BSPGCL in August on behalf of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited.
Strategic Importance
Adani Power Limited, part of the Adani Group headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is India’s largest private-sector thermal power producer. The Bihar project is expected to significantly strengthen the state’s power supply and support its long-term industrial and economic growth.
