Prayagraj, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : Armaan, a prominent suspect in the Umesh Pal murder case and a shooter with a reward of five lakh rupees on his head, was presented in a Prayagraj court under tight security. He was brought from a jail in Bihar on a transit remand for this appearance. Following the hearing, the court ordered his return to the Bihar facility.
Government lawyer Manoj Pandey stated that Armaan was brought before a special judge in the SC/ST court. During the proceedings, documents related to the charges against him were presented. The court inquired whether he needed a lawyer for his defense. In response, Armaan submitted a request for legal representation, which the court will consider.
Pandey explained that the law provides for free legal assistance to eligible defendants through the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The court will proceed with the request for a lawyer on Armaan’s behalf. The next hearing in this case has been scheduled for October 14. After the transit remand period expires, he will be sent back to the Bihar jail.
The government lawyer emphasized that the hearing took place in the SC/ST court, and all necessary judicial procedures were completed before Armaan was returned to Bihar. Security measures were notably stringent during the presentation.
